Default Anyone "Re-upgraded" to a newer Head Unit within the last 15 Months or so?

Hello,

I have an Alpine Head Unit right now. It is stil in excellent and great working condition. But it's outdated and yeah... It's outdated! The Alpine does have the complete package like Bluetooth, USB, AUX, and can swoop in hot sizzlin' chicks! But then again, it is just truly outdated and is probably just as old as your ex-girlfriend's daughter.

I was wondering if anyone has changed theirs "again" or had upgraded it within the last 15 months or so, and/or if you're planning to get one... What are you thinking of getting or a simple recommendation would be appreciated.

Shots would be a plus!

Cheers!

Replaced my OEM with an Alpine CDE-SXM145BT + KTP 445A amp, about 18 months ago. Both are doing fine. No problems with audio or any connectivity (like Bluetooth). Also, added a Focal subwoofer.

Not sure if this combo is any more advanced than your Alpine. You looking for a unit with GPS maps and touch screen?

No help here. Still running the OEM system in my 2003. The S2000 makes its own sweet music, so I rarely use it.

I upgraded to a Apline iDE-178BT - and removed my amp and sub because racecar now.

Unit looks like Wind's but i dont have a CD player so my screen is a bit bigger.

Does the job without an amp however i didn't connect the microphone so i can't use it for calls.

My only complaint is that the USB port doesn't provide much power.

Also using the the modifry DCI.

Does anyone know of a single Din Navigation HU? i have been scouring but looks like the last one offered is discontinued. Just picked up the S and was looking to upgrade the HU. I love the focal sub and will be following that path as well.

Crutchfield has a few from Soundstream, Clarion, and Jensen.
Amazon or Ebay usually have a decent selection of new/old stock head units. They probably have pop-out navigation units available.

I put this Pioneer unit in my Miata earlier this year...Pioneer DEH-X6800BT. I think it's great. The Bluetooth functionality is awesome..taking calls with the top down no issue. They also offer essentially the same unit except without the CD player. The price is also very nice. I recommended it to my brother for his VW Golf, and he is really enjoying it as well.
