Default Today I bought

Well, it was Friday, but I wanted to surprise people at the Ace tonight:

MY09 Black with red interior, 14,000 miles, FHSH and basically immaculate (apologies for the BGWs in the background):

Before all the doom mongers come along:
  1. Yes, I am aware it's an MY09, so the engine could lunch itself at ANY MOMENT. I have 4 years' worth of Honda warranty.
  2. Yes, I am aware the tax is a couple of hundred quid a year more expensive
  3. Yes, I am aware it's DBW
  4. Yes, I am aware it has VSA which could fail at ANY MOMENT.
  5. Yes, I paid A LOT for it.
Now that is out of the way, my plan is to keep it for a long time, the last one lasted 12 years and was driven throughout the year, averaging about 10k miles per year. It also did about 50 track days.

I'll be a bit kinder to this one, as I now have a "winter car", so it'll avoid all the salt and rain, and will do about 5k miles per year (and I'll probably SORN it, saving the aforementioned car tax. I'm not planning on tracking it, either (although I may be persuaded at some point!).

Plans so far include a full removal and greasing of the geo bolts and an alignment. Next the old stereo system will be fitted, then it's of to Dr MX-5 for an underseal and finally a trip to Tangoman for magic potions to be applied.

Initial thoughts on the differences, it's a lot quieter than the old car, and is much more stable over bumpy corners. Getting used to the slower steering rack, too.
