I' followed Lovegroova advise and DIYed head unit, component speakers and sub for 300 quid inc. OEM dash controls.
I'll be at Towcester for breakfast tomorrow if you want to hear it.

Halfbee, what amp are you running?

Impulse just fitted my head unit, amp (over the fuel tank), sound deadening and new speakers for about £250. I also purchased some excellent Hertz speakers for £230.

Are you wanting to just upgrade the speakers and use the original head unit?

I paid £39 for some Infinity Reference Components, made some MDF baffles with marine proof coating on them, a bit of bitumen sheeting behind the door skins and MDF baffle and it was a remarkable improvement over the other components that were in mine.
Problem with most installs in S2000's is people use those hideous ABS plastic ring adaptors to mount them to the door. They offer no mass as such and seal is terrible.
Get some MDF rings behind some speakers and it makes a massive difference.

I fitted rear speakers behind the seats using the existing harness that is used to retrofit the headrest speakers. Coupled with a usb head unit, for the modest outlay I am very impressed and can hear my music now with the top down.
