Yeah I was hoping for something with lower miles. Especially considering the reason I bought my S2000 a little over a month ago was because of the low miles. It only has 67k miles on it, but miles don't matter when an engine is seized.

I have considered a JDM swap. Any input on going that route? Is there anything special that has to be done since the JDM S2000's are RHD?

That's not too bad a price, but its no great deal being an F20 with the mileage. Id probably keep looking for a wile if your not in a huge rush. Id also consider an 04-05 F22 for a upgraded direct swap. I found one with 34k miles on it, drove 400 miles round trip to go pick it up for $2500. It was advertised on this website. I've bought several from different people on this website. Ebay has quite a few also. None of them had more then 60k miles on them, but I understand those are getting harder to find as the years go by. But like I said, less then 2 years ago I got an F22 with 34k on it. Ive put 11k on it so far, been a good motor.

TAE motors on ebay is great to deal with. I bought an 04-05 low millage f22c from them a few years ago to swap into my brothers ap1 and the engine is still running great. I would definitely ditch the f20 in favor for the f22c. The extra power and tq is quite noticeable.

Its probably just me, but i dont understad why dont more people dont just rebuild what they have? Then you would have a brand new motor for around the same cost, maybe a tad more plus you would have upgraded internals.
You can have a block sleeved by local machine shop for ~$1000, pistons/rods 1-1.2k, then miscellaneous stuff like plishing crank, bearings, gaskets ect. 3k and you csn have a pretty nice motor

The F22 can be a direct swap for an F20? There's nothing else extra required? That is great to know if that is the case. Amateur when it comes to engines.

Not in any rush but would love to have her up and running by the fall to enjoy her here in west Tennessee.

You know, I'd go the fix-it route, too --- but only if I had or knew someone with experience rebuilding these engines. Each engine is a bit different. Kinda pain to learn about the peccadilloes, the hard way. I remember pulling my 2002Ti engine in and out of the car a couple of times --- because things weren't done quite right the first time. This is ok, if you have a spare car and lots of time.

Yes, I have considered the rebuild route. Unfortunately I live in Memphis, and it has been hard locating someone that has the experience to do it. I have been told once you start messing with the internals of a Honda most of the dependability, and reliability goes out the window. I say this as I have a seized engine.

I have also considered buying a re-manufactured engine with 0 miles, and a warranty.

Per another thread, I believe mm3kwolik (Jordan) has moved to Texas. I reached out to the guys at DeftMotion in Nashville. I believe he used to be there, and they recommended a swap over a rebuild.

This is very true. I've known a couple people that had their Honda block rebuilt in the '90s from reputable, respected and well-known rebuilders.. only to blow, spin a bearing, seize or make bottom-end noises, etc. a couple months or a few years later. Not exactly Honda 300k-mile reliability anymore after a rebuild.
