This sucks...

Just wanted to let everyone know, my S2000 had the top cut, OEM seats w/speakers in the headrests, and OEM rims with Bridgestone Potenza tires was striped last night in east seattle.

Does anyone have rims I can borrow to move it to a safe location- in case they come back tonight?

Email me at my name at gmail if you can help!

Thank,

James

Dude, that sucks. I unfortunately don't have another set of wheels at the moment.

To be brutally honest, insurance company might just consider this a total loss and cut you a check.

I'm sorry to hear about your unfortunate loss. Your car will be totaled since they thieves took the seats... Most times top cut and seats stolen will result like that. I'm just curious and call me a devils advocate. What did you do to ensure the safe parking of your car? Was it in a secured parking lot? Street parking? Or did you just park it wherever was convenient? Your post is lacking information that could save other s2k owners from such fate...I apologize if I struck a nerve. It just makes me angry knowing some owners don't care about where they park and then go cry wolf when it happens to them.

Sorry to hear. Just curious, did you have an alarm? My alarm pager was dead for a couple weeks so I was just locking it with the key, and that's when my top got cut that little flashing alarm light is quite a deterrent

Our cars are not especially valuable but replacement roofs, seats, and wheels/tires can easily add up to what our insurance companies think is a total loss.

This is so common it shocks me that folks are still posting "looking for a S2000" notes yet plan to just leave the car on the street or driveway or in some apartment or campus parking lot every night. I've no clue if East Seattle is like East Cleveland (where I don't drive unless armed!), but thieves cruise even nice neighborhoods looking for easy pickings. Years ago I was looking for aftermarket wheels for a classic muscle car and a guy who knew a guy who knew another guy could get me a good price on a set. "What tires do you want on them?" was a tip off question the wheels were street sourced to order.

If you want my wheels bring a special tool, same with the seats.

This sucks! Mine got the same treatment just a few weeks later. I bet it's the same jerks. I spotted my seats and wheels on CL, but couldn't get them back.

Looks like insurance will total the car. Did you get the same?

She's stuck on the side of the road now, so I could use some help with loaner wheels too, if anyone can. PM me!

Damn, guys. This is terrible. Sorry to hear that this is still a thing.

One day these mafacas are going to target the wrong car. I hope they pay dearly.
