Default Car ran out of gas during idle- any harm?

Morons at the dealership ran the car out of gas while testing my AC which is having issues. Any harm from running out of gas once?

Moron didn't leave enough gas in the car, to allow for work to be completed by dealership.

No, your car will be fine.

Well, we don't know how far the dealership drove the car. Maybe they used up like a half a tank or something. Benefit of doubt.

Its not the worlds best thing to do to your fuel pump, its lubed by fuel, but running out of gas once or even 10 times isn't going to harm anything. Just don't make a real habit out of it (walking to get gas a few times usually cures that anyway).

Car was dropped off with halfway between 1/4 and 1/2 full. Who had possession of the car? I think if you are a mechanic and you plan to idle the car literally all afternoon you should pay attention to the fuel gauge. You are def a special kind of stupid if you don't. Typical Honda dealership.

I think that means 3/8ths.

Anyway, I doubt they planned to let it idle all day. I'm sure they forgot about it.

How did you find out?
