Admiral Cover mine with mods (Coilovers, Full Sports Exhaust System & Uprated Brakes), guess it comes down to the extent of them. Worth knowing about the SC refusal, as that is my next step!

I've found Classicline to be excellent in recent years. 5k miles, competitive price, and if you reach your 5k miles, you just renew early.

Flux, Sky and Chris Knott will insure SC'ed cars but I find their quotes can vary quite significantly year to year.
This year Chris Knott offered the best deal, I think it was around £500.

This is the second time I've heard this don't know what they are playing at! - i have had both sc and turbo insured with them for the last 5 years - turbo is less reliable and generates lot more power than a SC setup doesn't make sense!
