PSA: MassPike I90 to Activate Electronic Tolls 2016 Oct 28
FYI:
For those of you who travel the MassPike I90, you should have noticed the randomly placed overhead electronic cameras/lights spanning the entire width of the highway. These are for high-speed EZPass electronic toll collection - no more stopping at the booths.
The new toll collection is scheduled to go online on 2016 October 28.

Those with EZPass transponders will be billed one rate.
Those without EZPass transponders will be billed a different rate to offset the processing fees for sending a physical bill based on your license plate.
That's all I know from my search. I'm glad MassDOT has finally put these up. i'm tired of driving through the booths especially when someone blatantly stops in the EZ-Pass booth

Ezpass rates are higher for those with out of state ezpass. I have been a NY Ezpass holder for a decade and am unsure if it's worth it to switch, but I will pay about .20 more per toll as a result.
