These were the types of question going through my mind, I'm guessing it threaded or over-torqued before which caused it to blow the pug and melt the coilpack (rather than the other way around) otherwise I'd really expect to be able to pull the plug tube and get the intact spark plug out from under the melted coilpack.

I'd really advise you to get a professional job done on this. Head off to check for damage, then the aluminium can be either rebuilt and recut, or a helicoil or similar fitted, just not worth the risk of anything damaging the bores.

your car being an '08 it's worth some money you don't need to be risking the cost of a replacement engine.

Why not? i said fix it.... as did you... only difference is i would not trust the car still after it was fixed and i would sell it.. simply because i would be worrying about it for the rest of the time i owned the car.

To fix it properly and not have to worry about any issues, spend a little extra time and $. After all, is is an S2K.

If you don't trust the car how could you expect anyone else to?
