I had already posted about this, but it seems to have disappeared! I have an odd rattle inbetween 5-6k, happens in all all gears (well at least 1-3!).

I have tried searching, but not much luck. Any ideas? Loose heat shield, cat?

And it was always between 5 and 6k?

Just went to the local garage to get it booked in, described the issue, enjoyed the response I got...

'....how often do you get up to 6k!?'

...more often than you'd think!!!!! Obviously doesn't know VTEC!

cat heat shield for me too! Easy to remove with the right tools.

Is it safe to completely remove it? I'll pop down to quik fit (wouldn't use them for anything but little things like this) and ask them to rip it off!

I wouldn't personally, the cat gets bloody hot as you'd expect, they are there for a reason.
I would just get under the car and have a look your self, it is normally plain to see what's happening. There are also 3 heat shields on the manifold itself plus a locating bracket where the bolts can work loose.
