Default Squeaky suspension

Anyone had problems with squeaky KW V3's before (or any coilovers for that matter), and if so, how did you stop it?

I can't be certain, but it sounds like the noise is coming from the top mount area, behind the boot trim. It sounds like a squeaky bed spring when I go over a biggish bump.

I've given them a squirt of lube but I haven't had chance yet to see if it's made any difference.

Just wondered if anyone has come across it before?.......

Cheers, FB

Have you had new bushes put in recently aswell? Because the bushes will squeak until they soften up with time.

No new bushes but the same thing could apply to the rubber parts of the top mount.

They've been on the car for six months now though......

The spray grease seems to have done the trick.

Can you tell me where did you apply it? Did you put the grease between the spring and top mount or the top mount and chassi?

What product did you use?

I sprayed the top of the struts, where they attach behind the boot trim.

I used GT85 first so that it would penetrate, then clear PTFE spray grease.
