Ticking Noise - Timing Chain Tensionser?
Hi,
I'm new to the S2000 and just become the proud owner of a 2009 car with 18500 miles on it.
Generally everything is good (now I've got matched tyres on the rear axle, wasn't great before that) but I can occasionally here a ticking noise. So, I can't hear it all the time, only at low speed, low revs (and hence low engine noise) and when there is something to reflect the noise like driving next to a wall. In short it's faint and only sporadic.
Is this normal? Is the infamous ticking from the TCT more noticeable when it starts, or does it start like mine and just get worse and worse? How bad does it get before failure?
Any insight or advice gratefully received. Thank you.

Welcome to the S2000 club ( and the listening for problems that aren't there club too )
The injectors can be a bit noisy on these - often noticeable when driving by a wall. A treatment of Redline SI-1 quietened mine down but then I was left with tappet noise until I adjusted the valve clearances - I suspect yours have never been done so might be worth getting them checked at the next service - no urgency unless you want to start spending money now.
Watch out for when the roads start to get colder too, go easy on the right foot and wait until you're pointing straight until you put the power down.
