If you just follow the hose it's pretty easy to figure out what to do.
Coolant comes out from head and through the nipple on the front corner of the intake manifold, then after lots of bends and connections including the IACV it ends down around the thermostat housing bellow the intake manifold.
Here is a nice picture on the start of the coolant journey


While you are at it you might want to think about deleting all the air pump crap around that area as well.

Think I would try removing hose and cleaning the corrosion off first

I'm not removing the air pump stuff as i cannot be bothered and its not doing any harm

It's piss easy and makes working on the car easier...so much unnecessary emissions gumff in there...kit for sale on here works very well too; so no ecu faults.
