My s2000 sounds so ticky
Hi guys new to the forum and was told to sign up to try get some answers only owned my s2000 around 2 months and as soon as I got it I gave it a full service all oils were filthy, wrong plugs in it etc etc and also had the valve clearances done as they were almost all out.
I've since put a aftermarket exhaust from cat back and a k&n fipk kit on it
Since owning the car I've always thought it sounded so tappy, after the valve clearances were done it quietend it down but still seems exessive.
It's also had a new timing chain tentioner I've taken off the aux belt and ran it and it still has the same tappy sound can anyone shed any light thanks

Do you have an aftermarket header ? Mine is loud on the passenger side only - due to the thin walled header letting out valve noise.
Try a thicker oil and see if it makes a difference. Fuel injectors can make quite a bit of noise too. Lastly, you may need an improved timing chain tensioner and not just a new one, check out Billman's TCT it is a good investment either way.
