I can see it is "plastic welded" but I'd like to know how easily it goes back together if I remove if for a respray.

Any tips on the best way to remove the satin surround?

Can't rambler did it about 14 years ago , but it was fairly easy , the paint finish comes of with some ordinary brush cleaner the purple stuff , and leaves a nice sort of nickel finish , no need to paint ! Unless you want a specific colour
