i have trouble with baseline..
earlier i made 206 hp with the setup of
s-afc 2 untuned dc sports header dual spugen exhaust aem intake v1

my most recent is 187 with a toda header dual spugen exhaust and comptech intake... the problem was according to my future ems tuner was that im running abnormally rich....
here's my dyno sheets. DSC00190.JPG[/PHOTO] DSC00198.JPG[/PHOTO] DSC00201.JPG[/PHOTO]

he suggested the comptech might not be as freeflow as the aem intake... i sold the intake so the other option was to put my stock one back on and see a difference...he also suggested it might be a intake resonance problem
i will post updates

all i have to say is be prepared for shop fees soon! with vtec set so low and a forced air system you looking at very bad results 10-15k miles from now maybe sooner. it may feel faster sooner but at about 7k vtec aint making power anymore so why set it so low? a supercharger gives you consant power off the line and less of a top end so i would raise the vtec so you get more top end power, but thats just me. if you have the money for constant repairs then all the more power to you but if you care about your car 3200 isnt safe for long.

um no dude, a vortech or comptech is not making power right off the line. they don't make a good deal of boost until the RPM's raise.

Listen and listen good kylen.

You know nothing about the subject at hand. This much is clear.

The comptech and vortech superchargers are NOT positive displacement superchargers, which give you a ton of power right off idle. THey are centrifugal, belt driven superchargers, which means that boost climbs with revs. Max boost is hit at or near redline......this is the nature of the system employed.

The supercharger does not spool, but it DOES take some revs to get the blower spinning, meaning that you do NOT have boost right from idle. IN FACT, you actually LOSE a little low end power, due to the engine having to drive the blower.

Im posting this because this subject is of great interest to me. The supercharged cars are getting more and more powerful (I saw the thread on Paul Mumfords old car and was floored.........and out of a comptech, no less!). I dont want the thread getting hijacked. If you still have questions, start a new thread.

Peace.

I'm pretty sure he's from the land of Jackson Racing, which do provide Boost at a low RPM.
