I was washing my front windshield today and my rear view mirror just fell off as I was trying to clean the area around the mirror mount.

I dont have a clue on how to put it back together. I have the mirror, the spring, and the metal washer peice. I'm pretty sure the metal is what slides into the mount that is on the window. I dont know if I'm missing any other parts since I didnt see the who mirror actually fall.

Can anyone help me out w/ this? Thanks a bunch.

Consider get an auto-dimming mirror with fancy features to replace your current rear-view mirror. If mine fell off, I certainly would.

The mount that is attched to the window did not fall off. That is still on the windshield.

So is the "mount" still on the window? If them metal piece came off the window, you will need to have a glass installer EPOXY it back on (better than adhesive).

I'll go get my mirror assembly (it's out of the car) and take some pictures so you can see how it goes back together.

Oh, that's different. All the car's I've worked on in this area, had some kind of set screw, usually an allen head set screw, that locked the mirror on to the metal piece that glued to the glass. Does you're have this? If so, just put the mirror back on and tighted the set screw. It doesn't need to be "real" tight, just a little snug.

its screwed on pretty tight.
