Is The Aeroscreen Worth Buying.....

I have been thinking about getting one for a few weeks now.
Is it really worth getting one ?
I am thinking that it may make the cabin a bit more pleasent during the winter with the roof down.
As I am tall, I don't expect I will notice too much difference, but will it mean I will be able to chat with my passenger easier / listen to the stereo better ?
I have never gone through a winter with a convertible but I want to drive top down as much as possible.
Have any of you guys tried the higher aeroscreens , are they much better ??
Any thoughts / comments would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
AnDy.

I'd recommend it. It does help keep some of the heat in during the winter and it does mean you can have a conversation at 70....
Pricy though. Anyone got Ricks?

I have just this week fitted the full height screen from Rick but I have not had a chance to try it out at speed. From what I read on the USA sites it should be a worthwhile - but not wowee - improvement.
There are two aeroscreens around, besides the official one. Ricks, which comes in 2 heights (3/4 and full) and another but I can't remember the enthusiast supplier - try the USA sites, you will soon find it.
With Ricks, you have to first buy the Honda one as it is only the perspex that you change, and it is therefore still foldable. The other one is bolted straight on to the car, does not need the original screen, but then remains rigid in its upright position.
Go on Ricks site - one of the sponsors - he is very helpful, and I believe even gives details and a discussion on the other one. I have a faint recollection that the other one may even no longer be available as it was inferior in set up. Could have been Muzmat and they now Agent the Ricks one in Australia.
I will post a note re my new one once I have given it a good trial over this coming weekend.....a brief trip up the MI, but these days speeding is becoming more risky!
Hope this helps

I installed my Aeroscreen the day before the meet and it made a big difference. There is a noticable reduction in the amount of wind in the cabin. In fact this weekend it was so hot we actually tilted the screen back to get more air into the car.
Whether it is worth all that money is another question.
Installation was easy peasy (particularly to someone who has just painted their calipers ;)) and took about 30 minutes. It just needs a bit of care and attention (note: a hand-driven drill rather than an electric drill enables you to have more control when drilling the holes). See Instructions
Haven't decided about Rick's screen yet since I am not totally convinced of the final look. A couple of UK board members who have done it found it looked better the the stock aeroscreen.

I seem to remember you saying you were over 6ft, if thats the case then I wouldn't buy the Honda one as it won;t do a lot for you. I'm only 5ft8 and I find it dissapointing, it does stop some wind but I think it still lets in too much, compare it with the BMW and Mercedes screens that are full size, the Honda screen is too small.

AH BUT WERE NOT WEARING THE CAP / GOGGLES YOU ARE!
I think the 7/8 screen was reccomended as you could fold it back and still lower the roof.
If you want authentic Honda parts you can order it from the US forum (or elsewhere, no doubt) for a saving.
Cedric, did you get my mail RE footrest??

As far as I can see it has made no difference to me. But since it has been so hot I am not worried.
3dr solid day of driving and nearly have 550 miles. I intend to park it up soon - Wash it, polish it and put it under a cover.
When the rain goes away it can come back out and play. I am going to try and keep the mileage low this time.

Here's some food for thought...........
I was in the US on business recently. Since everyone talks about how stuff in America is cheaper than in the UK I thought I could save myself a few quid.
Well the stock AeroScreen in the US costs $279. This is

....but it's only $199.50 (about 150 quid) from HandA-Accessories .:)
I had a look at their site, I believe they do not ship overseas sadly :(
The Handa site has some excellent accessories.

I fitted the full height one from Rick and have just given it a thorough try out - London-Nottingham-London on the M1.
It makes an appreciable difference over the 'titchy' honda effort.
Much less wind blowback and (for winter) holds the warmth in the cabin. I've used the Honda version for the past 12 months and there is no comparison. I know that it is costly to have to buy both screens, but changing over the plastic screen was pretty easy and in the end the cost is fairly small beer compared to the price of the car and the very real benefit. I am 5'10" .
On the other hand, if you want an equally effective but far more economical solution to the scratchy rear screen problem, don't go to the expense of a special fitment for the rear well, just go into any carpet shop and get an offcut for a few bob. Works wonders and can be a very fetching sight if you go for a bright pattern:D :D
I will also be making up a suitable soft fabric one in a couple of weeks time, should not be too costly....anyone interested?
