OK so I kerbed them last week......
At the recent track day I had new S02's fitted (the old rears were s**gged well before I got there).
Unfortunately, the nice man from the tyre van gouged out a line about 6" in from the rim about 2cm wide on all four wheels :eek: :(
Aparently the S2K rim can't be handled by most tyre mounting machines as the spokes stick out too far!!!!
So, if you get new tyres, make sure you ask them what they're going to do if they damage it....
Touch wood - the tyre company are holding their hands up and it looks as though we're going to get new rims....
Old ones are going to be destined for track day use :D

Andy,
I had a puncture and the lad doing it had to readjust the machine for exactly that reason, when the wheel is turned the guid can catch and gouge the spoke, thankfully he could see that would happen and adjusted it accordingly.
Hope you do get some new wheel out of it, that would be nice, see if you can buy the old ones of them and stick some slicks on for track days. There was a Clio Williams at oulton with slicks on and he was very quick.

I've had so many bad experiences with tyre centres over the years, wheel damage, wrong tyres, general ignorence (sic), I find the whole experience more anxious than dentistry!
Fortunately the S2K's are ok for now.
You can't get thicker than a tyre centre fitter!

I think I've got a good result!
The "can't get better than....." have now changed the alloys for brand spanking new ones. Didn't even have to argue with them :D
They just turned up and changed them! Fortunately (or unfortunately...) one of the ones they damaged is the one I kerbed the week before so I've now 3 pristine (shortly to be 4) rims & tyres.
They even changed the fronts from S02's to S02pp's (they didn't have S02pp's even though I'd ordered them originally).
So new rims, new tyres....
On the tyres, the retail S02's have got a very different tyre pattern. There's far more rain channels, hence the reason I went for them. I put 245/45/16 on the back. They look about right, though I think the OEM S02's will have a bit more rubber on the contact area. After daily driving through the winter last year I wanted something with a bit more grip ;)
First impressions are that the car is moving around a bit more underneath me. I think this may be that the tyres still have the moulding chemicals on the surface. The tyres really smell. My garage now smells like a walk round an Esso refineary.
Oh and there's another benefit in the S02PP's there's a rim protector on the tyre wall :rolleyes: :)
