Default does anyone use the tonneau cover?

I've just received the recall notice re the tonneau cover...which got me thinking

Does anyone actually use the tonneau, it really is a pretty useless item

If you have anything in the boot where can you put the tonneau if you have to put the hood up?

It take an age to fit/unfit and almost every photo I've seen on the s2k site shows the car without it....is it any wonder

What we really need is one of those nice old fashioned types that clip on easily and can be folded in to a small bundle for storage.....could even fit neatly into a pocket on the underside of the boot lid.

Has anyone come accross something like this, or where one could be made?

I allways use it, takes me now 3mins to put on as long as you dont have a watch on your wrist. As to where to put it when the top is up, mine fits in the trunk! even with luggage in, granted you might have to squash it a bit if you have some luggage in but I've never had any bother ( mabey I travel light and dont have as much luggage as most )

Any idea what the recall does to the tonneau?

Hopefully it fixes some of th clips and makes them easier to push on when your hands are slightly bigger than the average five year old!

To me. a toneau cover covers the cockpit = either one half or all of it. The "boot" cover we have is worthless. It's too big. It's too useless. It's a pain-in-the-ass!

It's most emphatically not a tonneau cover. In fact, I think it's described as a "top cover" or something of the sort. I asked Rick if he has any plans to market a true tonneau cover, and he told me someone is working on it. Hope it becomes available soon.

I only use the cover when I'm on the track with the top down.

I believe the hood cover slightly reduces turbulence at higher speeds.

I had a full tonneau on my MX-5s, but if you think our boot cover is fiddly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The roof was always easier. I shall not be buying one. Especially as we have an electric roof.

Is that what that thing is for? I thought I was supposed to wrap it around my waist as some kind of a kidney belt for rough roads.
