Dear friends and energetic,

first of all thank you for your reply. Eventhough I am not new to the site, I don't usually post messages, since many (not to say all) my enquiries have been already answered or discussed by other owners.

Back to my previous question I am still confused on what gasoline we should use. the Vpower is only 95? I didn't know that!!! so is not advised to be used on ours cars!!!!

Anyway, I have the S now for over a year and what I am doing is using different gasoline from different stations, eg one time Vpower racing, the other BP100 etc. is that good for the engine, or we should use always the same "type" of fuel??

anyone, any thoughts/comments upon fuels and also on eko's product??
thnks
Nikos

HI NIK

The issue of gasoline is purely personal and subjective apart fromn the fact that V-Power is 95 to 97 octanes with adittives and hence no good for our cars (see the owner's mannual for that). SHELL and BP have their 100 octane gasoline shipped from abroad, EKO and others have their 100 octane fuel made here in Greece by the use of adittives. I have personnaly seen no difference between the 3 makers, but I preffer BP from a well trusted gas station (very important in Greece).

I fully agree with your comment on the forum, the quality and abundance of information is fantastic and the users are friendly and helpful :D :D What we are trying to create here is a local team of Greek S owners and enthusiasts to exchange oppinions and experiences, organize excurssions and track days and in generall to benefir from each others knowledge. After all the conditions in Greece are different, the market is different and due to the high price of the cars there are not so many S in the country so the more we gather the merrier!!!

For e.g. I now have an issue about changing my rear tyres on the 16'' stock wheels?? Which tires are the better for Greece? Should I stick with OEM Potenza S-02 or are there any alternatives?? Is the S-03 better for my 02 f/l model? What price am I looking at? Do we have a tire shop that offers good prices? Should I change all four (the front ones have only 19000 km and they look new treadwise but they are 2,5 years old)? When changing I will need to reallighn, what values are best for Greece etc etc etc

Imagine if we have 5 to 6 oppinion on the topic from users which are specific to Greece, how much better our choice (and chances) will be! Welcome to our group and lets get organised!!!

By the way, as many of you know, there are Greek Honda clubs in Greece (redliners, hondaclub), with internet sites, forums, links etc. which also have regural meetings, excursions and "fun days" at Megara. (I went two weeks ago, alone at Megara track on a weekday and completed knocked my self out ...and the car!!! after 30 min on the track I got dizzy but I enjoyed!)

But as far as I know there is none exclusively for Ss.

Wow! Am pretty pleased to see that my thread is rolling! :D

Regarding gasoline choice I use either Shell VPower Racing, BP or Eko as well. As Vag mentioned before I get my gas from a specific gas station which happens to be Shell. And sometimes when I run low I use other gas station but I never fill up my tank.

I agree with all of you to get really organised and get more specific on the S2000. Thats why I started this thread. PM me your details and next week I will get in contact with you and get organised.

Regarding tires I have recently upgrade mine on my S. You can check my signature on those and have further discussion. I believe the Michelin tires are the best for our bad quality roads.

You are right efthimios. There are many routes across the country. I really enjoyed myself when driving with my S open towards Portoxeli. A lot of straights and load of turns. I remember myself when I arrived back home... I looked at my S2000 and said:"Thank you!"

But also in Athens at the south cost is great to drive when there is no traffic of course!

I agree with VAG we must organized and gain more benefits for ours cars and ours wallets. :D :D

About the gasoline i believe tha BP 100 is the best value for money, Shell is too expensive.

VAG i have told you several times that you must put 18'' wheels and tires, Energetic do you agree with me at this??

I totally agree with you! The handling is much better now and I have test the S on few turns and I can go faster when cornering about 30km more on the limit. Very nice improvement I must say especially with the Michelin tires(check my signature). I had mine fitted and there is no rubbing at all. I will lower the car though. We can meet and you can have a look as well.

Regarding the Radio/Laser detector. Mine is "Radioshack" and works great. I had my ass saved couple of times! Now I know where all the cameras for the bus lanes are located on the streets.

One thing at a time guys!!

1) Meeting: We must meet for sure, I will be awaiting for the arrangements next week. Energetic make sure U have all the tel numbers U need or call me to help you on that.

2) 18'' wheels: I am not fun of aftermarket wheels plus I don't think it is a good idea to use such large rims and low profile tires on the Greek so called roads!! Also I don't know how well the new diameter goes with the factory settings in terms of weight, suspension setttings, gearing, tachometer reading etc Last but not least, guys do you know how much the 18'' tires and wheels cost to put or replace ??? Why not spent the money on a new set of tires or on a racelogic traction control?? Having said all that I will need and check for my self how other set ups work at the meeting :D

3) Radar detectors: Great idea but how do we get hold of them (they are not exactly legal)? Can we buy them in Greece, for how much, where do we install thme ??? :D

@Vag

I will arrange a meeting. I believe a good place will be on the coast side. (Paraliaki).

I bought my 18" OZ Superleggera and the Michelin Pilot Sport II and am very happy with the rims.

Originally I wanted to fit the millie miglia evo5s but they are very heavy, so I ended to the Superleggera.

As for the detector you dont have to worry since they are not illegal in Greece, but because some cops are a bit "strange" they can cause you troube for nothing. So in case I will get stopped by the police, I will unscratch the detector from the sticker and toss it under the seat.

@ energetic and the others:

Potential places for meeting:

1) parking lot outside SEF (Stadio Eirinis & Filias) right off the national road U follow the signs for SEF and you end next to the small pool

2) parking lot outside Skalvenitis on Axarnvn Street U follow the national road (direction from Kifissia to Piraeus) and you exit on the Axarnwn exit Sklavenitis market 200 meter after the junction on the right hand side

3) parking lot outside MEGA Vasillopoulos at Varibombi off the national road (direction from Piraeus to Lamia)

4) other suggestions include Varkiza, Trokadero, Kalamaki (off the marina) etc

U choose but then call me to try and mobilise npart, trabakoulas and other S owners :D

Vag I know what you mean. I was originally thinking of getting the front lip spoiler first and then the Mugen Carbon fiber hardtop. But I changed my mind once I saw another S with the OZ 17" Superleggeras. We stopped and had a talk with him. His name is Antonis and he is a good guy to talk with.
I must say that I like my S now much better with the 18" . But as you know one mod brings another. So now I have changed plans and am going for new springs (see signature) and then gor the front lip spoiler etc.

Regarding the meeting I believe its better on the coast side. S.E.F. Varkiza and Trokadero sounds nice.

I believe that is better to meet in Olumpus Plaza at Eleutherios Benizelos Air port
Very good parking, very cozy cafe and if you interesting for food also it have La Pasteria there.

Anyway What day do you plan for the meeting??!

Welcome to the club. We are trying to get organised here as you can see.
If you see an S on the streets have a chat with them and lets get to know each other.

I was just going through the whole topic again and we are all for it to meet but nothing is done yet. So decision time now! Am taking the liberty of setting the following meeting and see how many of us will show up.

UPDATED

Hello fire fly. Am glad that you will participate to this meeting. Its a start for sure.

Regarding the wheels you will have a good look at them from close and we will share opinions for several issues from all owners that will participate.

I met yesterday with another S owner and he will come on Sunday as well. Just for the record its the only S that I have seen with some major changes. I will say only one word of those changes, VORTECH.

Thats right and this is one of them.

So far 4 S owners are confirmed to be there on Sunday. More to come!

By the way my friend told me that someone is stealing the tow plugs from his bumpers. I have noticed as well that some S2000 have theirs stolen as well. So far I still have mine. What about you all?

which is the GR honda club. don't ask me what someone should expect to see there, but since there are going to be some S on the track, I would be great!!
I believe that the races will take place at Megara, but I am not sure yet, still waiting for confirmation. If it is at Megara I'll be going for sure!!

A almost forgot, anyone can participate on the race, so if somenone of you, want to, go ahead!!

So see you there?
