New Scorpion Stainless Exhaust System
I've been assisting Scorpion in their R&D lately with a new exhaust for the S2000. After a couple of issues with booming and gas speed upsetting the ECU due to the high pass sports-cat they now have a sports-CAT system available.
Its amazingly quiet inside the car, more so than my Supersprint was and it really shows off the engine note. When you VTEC it sounds simply awesome, really gritty rather than booming as you can hear all the noise from the engine bay and the rear not inside the car. I really think this is going to be a winner...
Its been about a month in development and they have put a lot of effort into the design and acted on all my feedback over the period. The sports CAT makes a noticeable different to the upper rev range especially in the higher gears.
They tried a couple of different designs for the pipes however the cut ovals similar to those on the Supersprint are definitely the way to go.
I believe the price is going to be extremely competitive although I'm not going to quote here although I will say it's going to be considerably less that most manufacturers solutions.
Many thanks and good luck to Alan and Steve @ Scorpion, very friendly guys
They currently have the pattern for a 99->03 design, I believe they are working on the 04/05 design right now.

that photo doesn't really sell their product... the outer weld looks like the edge of a rusty tin can...
This is probably a better looking example:

V-interested, after a pipe, but dont wanna lose the intake roar, so sounds like it could be ideal!
How big are the ovals? Dont want anything OTT, size on the 04 S is pefect I think.

Bring your car along to the Herts meet (Welwyn Garden) next Thursday so we can have a look..... and a listen.
I agree, the photo's on their web site could be better. I would have concentrated more on a full rear shot of the pipes as that's what everyone sees..
