1 gallon of gasoline equals 5.8 to 6.5 lbs.

Cool, thanks, you get the prize, now...could you be a little more specific? lol

How about 93 octane, or does it matter?

The density of water is .036lb/cu in.
The density of gasoline is .026lb/cu in.

Since water weighs 8lbs/gallon, gasoline weighs 5.78 lbs per gallon.

And, if from one of those really cheap stations, aerated or non-aerated?

Depends on a couple of variables but I will make a couple of assumptions for simplification.

1.) 93 octane gas is in liquid form (specific gravity = .76).

2.) Different brands of 93 octane gas is of same density.

3.) You are referring to U.S. Gallons

1 (gal of gas) * .76 (gm/cm^3) * 1/.000264 (cm^3/gal) * 1/1000 (kg/gm) * 9.81 m/s^2 = 28.24 (kg*m/s^2)= 28.24 Newtons =

6.35 lbs.

S2Kguy never said how precise he needed the calculation.

The difference in the solutions could be quite significant.

I hope you are not engineering bridges for any city I live in.
