Default CT - Drive to forget winter is around the corner

CT - Drive to forget that winter is around the corner.

A little drive through the Litchfield hills of CT. We will meet off Rt34 in Derby and make our way to a luncheon in Litchfield town square. Finish the drive in Woodburys own dairy delight for homemade ice cream.

I figure we meet 11ish and finish the drive by 2-3pm.

We did this drive in the spring - https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=468771

Hi George,

I usually have the car off the road by Nov. But if early enough I may be interested.

I've got a route planned to drive from North East CT up through Ma to Mt. Wachuesetts and take the auto road up but I need to drive it and check out the roads. Maybe on the list for next year.

My +1 bought an 07 so we have another birth in CT.

The fall is awesome with the top down.

Have fun,

Sparkie

Well the weather can be like last year which ended up being warm almost till January.

Sparkie, yes definitely if you have a drive idea bring it out. Northeast CT will be great because it will include the MA and RI folks.

It doesn't have to be. Last year, we went to Ptown (Provincetown) for lunch two weeks before Christmas, and it was top down all the way there and back!

As nuts as this sounds, I drove from NE CT up to central MA last OCt when it was 28F... Top down.

Boy, the heater gets really small when it's that cold.

Although cold, it was really nice and clear.

I got a lot of weird looks too.

I don't think I'd do that again. It was it's 1st year and I knew the end of the season was near.

See ya,

Sparkie

I hear all the concerns on this late season drive. That is why its more of a quick afternoon drive and only if the weather cooperates. I fall into that garage queen category as well. I only take it out when its top down weather on a weekend. Maybe that explains the 19,000 miles with 5 years of ownership.

So lets hope for some topdown weather in November to squeeze in this Sunday afternoon drive.

Wow - wish i could make this but I have been out of that area for years now. Back in 2009-11 there used to be frequent meets and drives in the NE forum. What happened with everyone? Where is Paiva?
