^ That works too, I prefer my method as it gives me control when to stop pumping fluid and I can put the filler bolt back on as soon as fluid starts to pour out.

Just to add to this DIY....

When it comes to the tranny and diff, ALWAYS undo the fill bolt first. If you drain all the fluid, and you can't get the fill bolt off, you snap the head, whatever, you are SOL. ALWAYS take the fill bolt off first.

when you say, fluid comes out the hole when its filled... meaning the tranny fluid will begin coming out the fill hole?

Also how precise are you in measuring the 1.6qt capacity? or should you try to get as much in there as it will hold (ie pump a little more and quickly plug with the bolt?)

thanks! will be my first tranny fluid change. movin up from just oil lol

Thank you for saving me 40 bucks, gas, and time!

P.S: I did a bad thing... I used ramps instead of jack stands!

Thanks for the post! It is a great write up.

I figured my car is only 12 months old and probably won't need transmission changed yet. I guess I was wrong. I already have 30,000 miles on it.

So I did the flush and the shifter is smoother now.

Thanks!
