Default Failure points of the S on the track

Hi, I'm interested to know what is likely to fail on the S with repeated track usage.

I'll start with areas I have heard to be weak.

1. Rear Brake hub (due to heat buildup from solid disc setup?)

Rear Hub Replacement

https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=223599

2. Suspension Arms (A Arm Brackets?) any proven aftermarket solutions?

Upper A-Arm Bracket Fix

https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=50244

3. Cooling (the engine runs really hot and the tracks i go to can have track temps of >50Deg C and ambient >34 Deg C

4. Differential - for AP1s at least
Solution - Comptech Reinforced Housing, Puddymod Diff, Inlinepro 300zx conversion, buy a spare (modMonkey)

5. Oil starvation under high-g turns.
Solution - Mugen, Toda, etc. baffled oil pan. (modMonkey)

6.
7.

For 2, I think you are referring to the A-arm brackets (?) They've been known to fail under repeated hard braking.

A lot more info for this and other things can be found in the sticky at the top of the page...

Thanks modMonkey. The sticky doesn't really specifically identify the failure points so I thought it might be helpful to create one so it will pop up on future searches

hopefully it can be sticky'd

One other comment, you might just want to modify your original post at the top as people add comments. It'll be easier to look for the first post rather than searching through the entire thread for the most up to date one.

Gas starvation during high G lefts Ive heard. not sure if there is a baffle for our tanks... but half a tank or more fixes it.

This is a great thread for anyone beginning to prep a car for the track!

And this post proves it.

Ap1 or AP2? subtle difference, I know.

Track or ovals?

Imagined or real?
