Hi,

I'm going out on a whim here, but would anybody be interested in hiring an entry-level mechanical engineer? I graduated from Lehigh University in 2008 with a BS in mechanical engineering. Worked for a power plant company in New Jersey until energy prices crashed late '08 early '09 and was subsequently laid off.

Other than just asking for a career I also wanted to ask for some advice, haha. Is Mass. a good state for entry level engineering positions? Would I be better off looking somewhere else? I had to move home since my last job, so I've only been looking in Mass. However, I'm starting to wonder if I should expand that search.

Appreciate any help at all.

Looking for work for over 6 months now. Still nothing. Any one got any leads?

Sending resume out is like sending it in a black hole. Never hear back. I do about 5 to 10 applications a week on Craigslist.

Resume posted on Monster/CareerBuilder/YahooHotJobs

No hits, nothing.

Dimitriy,

I read it. I'd say go back to school. You are competeing against people with just as much experience AND college degrees. In this environment, employers are not too likely to even give you a call when there are ten degreed people looking for the same job. Now is the time to get an education.

Hey everyone :hello:

I grew up mostly in MA but moved out to SoCal about 4 years ago. It's gotten to the point where I'm probably coming back to MA soon. With that in mind I figured I'd see if anyone was looking for someone like me.

My education was a double associates in automotive technology and toyota TTEN automotive technician training. After school I was accepted to Bridgestone Racing Academy in Ontario, Canada. I received training in race car construction, pit crew and track flagging, vehicle maintenance, and also participated in SCCA/CASC driver license training.

I began my auto career as a flat rate tech for a toyota dealer. I ended that after a year when I was offered a job at Saleen. My duties there were building the Supercharged 281 Extreme engines, 302 Parnelli Jones engines, and some of the S7R race engines and suspension sub-assemblies. I was also in charge of engine tear down, component cleaning, cataloging, and engine sub-assembly training.

Next was placement in a three man team in charge of all incoming sales processing, tech support, product inquiries, and online forum monitoring at Kenne Bell Inc., specializing in positive displacement twin screw superchargers. Our main focus was late model American Muscle.

Through personal work in high school I have a strong background with subaru, specifically turbo engine swaps into older chassis and track prep. All in all I've worked with everything from small displacement japanese forced induction to big block domestic muscle. I have a current resume for anyone with a serious position.

Thanks,
TJ

Anyone know anyone who's hiring? I'm somewhat a jack of all trades, I've got experience wrenching, as well as office work. I've got my bachelors in business administration, currently 3 years with The Hartford, but I've hit my breaking point and I need something new.

Hi guys. I know I am new to the forums and all. I picked up an S2000 back in October 2010.

I currently am a Manufacturing Engineer in Irvine, CA. I am relocating back home by April to Boston, MA due to some unforeseen personal circumstances.

I have close to 3 years experience as a Manufacturing Engineer spread between 2 small companies. I took possession of daily operations in my current company. You could say I am a jack of all trades - testing, quality, purchasing, component sourcing, assembling.

My education background is Engineering Technology from Wentworth Institute of Technology with a focus on electromechanical engineering.

If you have any leads for me, that would be great. Thanks.

Haha, She eventually got a job with state street. How about that....

I currently live in the Washington DC metro area, but I am planning to move to Boston soon. I am a soon-to-be college grad this December with a BS in Information security. I have 2-3 years of IT help desk experience with a small business, and currently work for the Government as a Contractor doing IT Help Desk. I was wondering if there is anything out there for me?
