The first race been run and I'm super disappointed. I know I've made quite a few changes to the car since last season, so I shouldn't expect it to work perfectly first time out. I'm not sure if it was the stinky tires or the new tune or something else but I had my worst result in about 2 years - I was about 4 seconds off my pace from last season :thumbdn:

The car was hesitating a few times at high rpm, so my tuner thinks we should go back to the old plugs. We put in some NGK Iridium - BKR8EIX (gapped to 0.9mm) during the last tune and this might not have been the right move.

Next week I'll be putting in my BC cams, with Supertech valvesprings and retainers. We'll then go for a re-tune and see how I go.

Fitting the Supertech valvesprings was not much fun. Being dual valvesprings they come with new spring seats and you need to remove the valve guide seals to replace these. Seemingly, even though these are a common part among many Honda engines, the dealerships in Perth didn't have any....

Here's a short video of the car on the dyno with the new BC cams;

Myself and my tuner have been scratching our heads for a few days to try and figure out what's going on here. We haven't been able to come up with anything, so I thought I'd post up the results. Red line is OEM cams, blue line is BC Stage 2 NA cams;

I might send my dyno graph to BC and see what they have to say.

Very interesting, I was always of the impression cams where a waste of time without more breathing mods like ITB's. Definitely wouldn't be happy with those results.

i have to say the blue and orange looks great didnt think it would look as good as it does and the rims suit perfectly, the overall mods are great, i was going to go itb NA ruit but decided to go FI, the itb setup would be the next thing id look at aswell as the gains to throttle response and low end power the sound is amazing
good build thread ill be keeping tabs on it :)

No update yet. I've started another thread here http://www.s2ki.com/...c-stage-2-cams/ to specifically discuss this issue. I won't have any further updates until I get back from Europe in about a month.
