Is the lizard skin supposed to slide up and down the metal bar? the new lizard skin chainstay protector has a rubber material at the back, similar to a mouse pad, which is supposed to grip the bike frame.

i'm thinking of deburring the metal as per tsb, touchup paint, then lizard skin.

Lizard skins are still abrasive. Better to debur and cover arm in Helicopter tape (glossy & smooth). My hood is 10 yrs old and still OK.

how do you apply helicopter tape to the corner where it pivots/rotates? do you have any pictures?
