Birthday present from my wonderful wife.

Not a "bling-bling" roadbike but just what I need. Commutes should be much smoother now.

Really nice bike Joe! How do you like it compared to your old bike?

I've been a little MIA recently, but I've been riding and working on losing that weight. The Hillier than Though was canceled due to a scheduling issue with another tour, but the plan is still to get in some miles!

Well... finally made the transition to winter riding today. As far as comfort, I actually felt a little warm... overdressed a bit but that's ok. Better that than not enough.

Ended up doing about 15.5 miles and I faced the hard fact that my legs don't have what they had about 6 weeks ago. For comparison, I went and did a 0.3 mile climb that I always use to gauge my fitness and I averaged about 8.5 mph going up, when 6 weeks ago, I was going up at 10.5 mph.

Anywho... thought I'd share. Still need to take pics of the wheels... lol.

Happy Cold Weather Riding... hehe.

I've been cycling and running for the past 8 weeks and it feels great to be exercising again; losing 20lbs doesn't hurt either! I am also trying to get some colder weather riding in and have ordered some shoe covers, balaclava, winter cycling gloves and leg warmers. I've tried to get in some longer rides on the weekends, and then do my 10 mile loop on the way to work during the week, which has added up to about 600 miles over the past couple months.

Here are some shots from some of my rides! Fall is such a great time to ride!

I was angry i didnt go either, problem is I dont like riding home in the dark, so it makes it a lot tougher to ride to work every day without being picked up.

I haven't really been riding other than a few random nights. I was going to ride this weekend but I have a stomach virus, so much for that. Other than that, been running and doing the indoor trainer. Time to shed off those extra holiday pounds lol. How's riding with liberty cycle?

Since I was feeling like crap this weekend and wasn't able to go out for a ride, I figured I'd take the oppurtunity to give my bike a little bit of a cleaning on sunday since it wasn't as windy as saturday. Also, some people on here wanted to see pictures of my new/old wheels that I got last summer, so I took some pictures of the bike too while it was still clean.

Hope you enjoy. :)

Wheels are Boyd Cycling 50mm Carbon

Computer is a Cateye Micro Wireless on the stem and I also use a Polar RS200 for Heart Rate Monitoring and also to time my interval workouts:

I've used that Cateye Computer since I got the bike back in 2006 and has been absolutely amazing!!!! For I believe it was $50... it is the best bang for the buck. Extremely accurate and also has Auto Start/Stop so that when you stop at a light, it doesn't screw up your Average Speed. However, after using it for so long and eager to further trend my fitness data, I have bought myself a few days ago, a Garmin Edge 500 with Heart Rate Monitor and Speed/Cadence Sensor:
Attached File  IMG_0282_Resized.jpg (352.39K)
Number of downloads: 5

It's a GPS enabled computer that trends all sorts of data. Now I just need to find another nice day to install it... baby steps... lol.

Thanks for looking.

Thank you Clyde.

Yeah no doubt... I actually took the day off today, so I might have time to get it started and hopefully finished today. I'll take pics of it after I'm done.

Myself and Jon have been chatting and we're going to try to setup a ride near his place soon, weather pending of course. Something casual and not too crazy since it is the start of the season and base miles reserve still hasn't been met. We'll keep you posted.

Alright... took some time today to get everything installed on the bike. With watching some TV in between, it took me about 20 min to get everything on. Now I just need to install software on the computer and make my custom data pages that will be displayed on the cycle computer while I'm riding.

New compared to the old...

It will only sync up when I upload a session, other than that, it won't do it automatically.

I won't be able to track power output since I don't have a power meter. Those are usually $$$$... lol. It is capable of being synced with one though.

Thanks! Steel is real!!!

But that's a sick Orbea 8kgoodenuff.

I ride 30 miles roundtrip. But it's not easy. Half is very congested with barely any shoulder (i try to jump between sidewalks if i can) and the other half is openish rd with rolling hills and cars blasting by like they think they are driving a S.

Man this thread has been active .......I havent ridden since we did a ride for a fallen cyclist just before Xmas. I get out for runs with Jinger usually once or twice a week and even then it's only a mile or 2.

Weight training almost every weekday morning though.

I will try to ride (at least home from work) one day next week. It's gonna be brutal. :faint:

Yeah... I know exactly how you feel about the traffic. Sometimes I get a little freaked out cause some people around here or I guess anywhere sometimes just really don't know how to drive. Then you get the jerks that purposely try to "brush" you as your riding... where they try to get as close to you as possible to I guess try to scare me?!?!?!? That freaks me out most cause they're relying on how well they can judge the width of their car. Then you have the retards that will floor it past you on purpose as if they're trying to prove they can move faster than me... on a bike... using leg strength... what do they expect?!?!?!? I guess the need some sort of ego boost... I don't know. I can go on and on about retarded people in this world.

Joe!!!!!!!!!... how's it going man?... hope all is well with you and Tammy, and of course my secret GF Jinger... lol.

Yeah... it's been getting busy in this thread... gets me charged up for riding this season. I was looking for some good snow storms this winter but that didn't happen and I've given up having one at this point, so now I just want the warm weather haha.

How's the new bike been treating you?
