Road Atlanta was awesome! I'm driving in HPDE 2 with NASA in this video. I was completely lost the first couple of sessions out, but my instructor helped immensely. To be honest, the track scared me at first. There are so many blind corners, and extreme elevation changes that you can't really grasp from the video.

The 2 Ferrari race cars that passed me sounded amazing. The video doesn't quite capture the music I was hearing as they went by. I think they were allowed on track with the HPDE 2 students because they missed out on one of their practice sessions for HPDE 4 due to the quiet hours on Sunday. I'm just glad I got to hear them at full throttle right in front of me.

Here's one from Nashville Super Speedway this past Saturday. I set a new personal best time of a 1:11. The guy in the white 370Z is one of our drivers for the the Chump Car / Lemons race. The Black STi is Michael Poole's, another one of our drivers. The Z is completely gutted with a cage. It weighs in at 2900lbs wearing 305 r-compound tires (Toyo R888), Stoptech big brake kit, JRZ Coilovers, and an Aeromotive active wing among other mods. The car is sick! Michael's flat black STi is also on R888 and puts out 320 whp. Looks like I need to step up to some real rubber.

Your motorcycle lean in for every turn is epic... Did you even notice you were doing that? :D

Props for Wynn extracting every bit of handling capability out of his car!

It's a bad habit to do that in a car. I guess it always stuck with me from my days of tracking motorcycles  That was over 10 years ago though.

Oh, I'm still pretty new at this. I've been tracking a car for less than a year. I'm sure there is a lot more potential out of the car with the right driver.

I'm running in the advanced class in this video. The white 370Z was spewing fluid out of the diff cooler. If you skip to about the 4 minute mark, you can see the fluid spraying out the back of the car. It made the track slick when I was going into turn 2 which made for a good little drift session at 4 minutes.

Nice job Wynn! Looked like a blast, when I get my everyday driver I'm gonna track mine as well.

Skip to 10:10 on this video of me at Road Atlanta. It's posted in the op, but I forgot about when the rear end wanted to come around on me while entering the esses. I caught it pretty quick, but it definitely woke me up. I was doing about 90mph going down hill into the esses when the back started to come around!

I like the yellow Ferrari. How was the last right hand turn right before the finish line (how fast were you going)?

Yeah the Ferraris were sick. They sounded even better in the car.

Coming into that last right hander (turn 12) I'm near the top of 4th gear, so I'm probably going around 90-95mph. That corner is down right scary though. Once you come over the hill you are pretty much committed to the speed you chose coming down hill and into the right hander. The elevation change is drastic. It doesn't look too bad in the video, but it really is like a roller coaster. As you can see, if you judge your speed wrong coming into 12, you'll be greeted by a nice cement wall on either side of the track. I know I can probably take that corner faster, but I just ran out of balls. I didn't want to play with the limit on that corner too much.

Nashville SCCA Auto-x this last weekend... Basically a single lap track day, with a few cones. Relieved the itch for a day, but I need to get signed up for my next honest track day. :D

Nice! That's how every autocross should be. I really wanted to make this event. Are they doing any more this year on the track?

There's another one like this later in the year, but I'll have to disagree in that this is not how an autocross should be.

Autocrossing when going back to its roots is supposed to be a small course, tight, slow, and very technical. Sure these track days are fun, but the Tennessee Region keeps on building faster and faster courses, which tend to really cater best to the high horsepower cars. In catering people get this illusion that faster and faster is better. Sadly you're losing a lot of the really great and talented small course drivers.
