one hot wheel + nasty burning smell
ok so this is whats going on. i got the car 4 months ago and have not had any problems yet, this is the first. the first time i noticed this "smell" was over the past weekend while driving. last night i was on my way home from work and smelled it again. when i got home i decided to investigate and found the passenger side wheel so hot i couldnt keep my finger on it for more than a second, the 3 other wheels were barely warm. this smell, i found can be smelled the most coming from the passenger side front wheel well area. so today i jacked up the front of the car and tried the free spinning test. both front wheels spun free roughly the same amount of time so i dont think it could be a siezed caliper. what i did notice, although, is that the rotor on the passenger side front is thinner than all the other rotors. not by much though. on the rotor itself i noticed a pattern on the rotor of the cooling splines in the center of the rotor (i hope you understand that)
im thinking maybe i just need new rotors...im not sure though. any help would be appreciated
i changed all the brake pads right after i got the car also so the pads are all new

sticking claiper happens alot, sometimes you can get away with cleaning it, if not you can buy referb kit for the calipers from hardtopguy or honda
i have had 3 fronts and 4 rears stick woop woop

hmm well i dont smell it everytime i drive, like today, to and from work i didnt smell it at all and the wheel was just as warm as the others. how can i go about "cleaning" the caliper so it wont stick anymore? does it mean i need to replace the caliper?

just take the wheel off. take the rotor off and reinstall the caliper. the caliper should move forward and back on the bolts that are used to mount the caliper to the braket. if it doesnt, its stuck, and would explain why theres so much heat. your basically driving while braking.
just did hte brakes on a camaro SS. had this happpen. both fronts where seized. i took a 20lb sledge to them, and they didnt budge LOL. there was so much heat i had ot wait around 45 mins so i could touch the wheel!
calipers are deisnged to FLOAT. IE slide forward and back. worst case you can get reman'd ones. good luck

I had a bad wheel bearing in rear passenger side a while back and while trying to debug it I got some air in the caliper. After I had the bearing changed, I noticed that whenever I drove hard that wheel would heat up and cause a smell. I bled the brakes and it never happened again.
