his insurance company dont care. his last car (impreza type r) had a spec sheet longer than both my arms and still was fully covered.
someone offered me a black one late last year from here but i cant remember their username.
possibly one of the usa forum members might be willing to ship?

In my experience there's always a difficult compromise with convertibles. A roll bar with decent protection will prevent the roof operating correctly, so people end up with something too small, and too close to their head. Especially tall drivers who have the seat on the rear most setting, and in some cases re-mount it.
I've seen (and owned!) many cars where the roll bar makes the car *less* safe due to the proximity of the back of the drivers head to the bar. A whip-lash kind of accident where you're rear-ended is statistically far more likely than you rolling it.
Have you looked at removing some of the foam from the seat base to get you lower down in the car?

I had one, think it was Spoon. Looked like the pic though, but black and not welded across the lower bar, it was bolted.
Was wrapped in thin foam too.
I needed it as I'm 6'4" and with a helmet on my head was well over the std roll bars.
It also stiffened up the rear of the car in the process.
The only issue is that a glass windowed roof wouldn't fully retract as the glass wedged against the bars.
Insurance was no problem .. but then I had a lot of mods already.
A bar like the one pictured would not cause the unsafe issues garyo mentions, as the only way to hit your head on a 4 point is to get out the seat, stand outside the car and headbutt it.

I like the cage look.
But are guys saying the cusco won't work?
Also why would insurance bring your rate up...it's a "safety" feature.
That's like saying "oh you have airbags...20 bux more pls"
