Update 06.13.2010
K guys, just talked to Honda Tuning and they said I can give you a little more info about the project and a better picture, so I will do my best to try and answer a few of your questions here.
COST:
When I started the project I sold off the OEM F20c, my Hondata Kpro, and my Mugen Exhaust netting me about $3600
I took that money and was able to buy the new Kpro, my K24a1, and all the needed parts so i could fab everything up to work together with the s2000 transmission and electronics. (I would also like to note that all of this was paid for before I had sponsors on board.)
From there I figured I was basically at the same point, cost wise, as I was with the F I took out of my car. Then I spent a little money adding parts to the motor (but was able to avoid the cost of sleeving the motor) to get the numbers you will see below... but I believe that even a stock K24 will yield more TQ than the F20.
POWER:
This seems to be the other main concern, I am very happy with what I was able to achieve. The car is running an OEM s2000 header that was modified by me and some friends to get the car going (meaning that I can guarantee our work to it not helping the power band). There is talk that the S2000 drive-train has something like a 20-25% drive-train loss compared to the FWD platforms having 10-15%. Either way I think there is a lot of room for improvement with this motor throughout the whole powerband.
The green is my F20c at its best numbers on the same dyno we used yesterday. The red is my K24.
The F20 was Kpro, J's Intake, Mugen Exhaust, Test pipe, and some other random bolt on's
And for those wanting a better pic... here is one of the bay
