Different color Silverstone metallic?
#22
Well I just got done talking to the guy that painted my car... Came to the conclusion that he will paint my entire car from front to end free on Monday. He even offered to repair a big 3 inch crack on my lip aswell! He asked me whether I want to continue to paint the car as is or if I could find the actual silverstone code, then he'll paint it that color. My only concern is... I thought the code I gave him was silverstone! NH-630M right? Unless I'm missing something...

The first time I had something painted (an aftermarket spoiler), I refused to take the entire car to them (I have overspray-phobia). Instead, I took the spoiler to a body shop along with one of my stock side mirror housings (had aftermarket ones on the car at the time) and a bottle of Silverstone touch-up paint that I'd purchased from Honda and said: here, I want this (handing them the spoiler) this color (handing them the mirror housing and touch-up paint). It came out pretty darn near perfect. Not sure if I just got lucky or what.

Well that is the right code for Silverstone. Just verify with him thats the code you want, and let him start spraying!

The dude that painted my car is tryin to charge me now to repaint the car for his mistake. He keeps blaming the fact that there wasn't a color code sticker and that the car has been painted before in the past thus the reason why the color didn't match.
My car was perfectly fine when I dropped it off last week. It even match other silverstone cars at previous S2K meets so I don't see the problem. I'm very frustrated right now with this entire ordeal. I feel like this guy is trying to swindle me for my money.

Well if he is willing to paint the entire car and u can afford to leave it with him for the amount of time he needs it, go for it, its free right? just choose the right color. if you can, ask a fellow silverstone to let you borrow their gas door to match it. Good luck

It would appear to me that this guy didn't use a variant deck when matching the paint or actually painted it the wrong color (can never really tell paint from pictures). I would be pretty pissed seeing he didn't even attempt to tell you that he couldn't properly match the panels and sprayed them whatever he felt was best. Sure he may be a great painter, but simple business practice says if it's not exactly how the customer is gonna want it, clear it with them before you proceed. Just my 2 cents.
