Good price and by all accounts these will be far better than any other road tyre currently on offer in the UK. Anyone who doesn't fancy R tires for street driving should definately buy these

Surprised you can get hold of the 215/45/17 as we checked with Yokohama about a month ago and they said they didnt have any due to a short supply in Japan :)

Yeah they do but no stock in UK.

Yokohama just got the 215/45/17 in about 3 weeks ago, is all available now.

We tried this tyres at Brands hatch on a stock EP3 and with a set of R888 to compare, I did 5 laps in both of them and got exactly the same time and its actually feel better and last much longer than the R888!

If you use your car for both and track day and can't be bother to swap wheels over, this is the perfect tyres for you!

Thanks Dixon. If you could keep your eye out for the 16" sizes, that would be great. :)

I probably won't need any til next spring in any case :)

They are not bringing the 16s until next year anyway so you might get lucky!

That's an expensive way around what's not really that big a problem :)

Besides, adding weight is never a good idea :p

There is only one compound, Loon. These are not like R888s or A048s, which are the next level up.

Mark has A048s.

AD08 http://www.yokohamat...advan_ad08.aspx - basically road tyres that are good on track
AO48 http://www.yokohamat...advan_a048.aspx track tyres that work on the road (when it's not cold).

From my own experience if you only use it for track day the AD08 and R888 is on par, as the R888 start losing grip after 7 laps anyway plus they are crap in the wet and the AD08 can still push on with the same amount of grip level and you get pretty good grip in the wet once you put some heat in time probably better than A048 in the wet. When it start getting abit hot you can also feel the grip losing out progressively not like the R888 which takeaway all the grip with no sign of warning. The experience in this is very similar to A048 but with less grip for sure. R888 is one of the worst Semi slick and Ad08 is probably one of the best road/track day tyres you can get at the moment.

Jay, if you really want to see the benefits change all 4 tyres, and sell the rears in the for sale section ;)

Having grippier tyres at the front is probably going to give you more oversteer.

Probably best to get all 4 done at once.

Im in the same situation front worn rears ok. At this time of year I am thinking about getting winter tyres as replacements and then going to the AD08 next year when the weather picks up.

AD08 is not bad in the wet as well and it will probably last you until the next Winter if you get them on now.

Yeah I know it's tempting but I can guarantee they won't be any good in the snow if its like last year again!

Ill have to decide what to do.

i didnt think it'd be a too good an idea to only do the fronts, my rears arent good enough to sell but not really bad enough to just waste.

Im not too worried about having these tyres over winter as the car will rarely be used when the weather's rubbish.
Over £560 is a lot for me to be spending out when at the same time im getting it taken in for its 3rd service plus mot and in just over a month i need to retax it. Although i do have a couple of track days coming up.
