Dixon, do you recommend the 225s on the front as opposed to the 215s (on 17s). Any downsides to this?

No Downside apart from more grip. It feels alot better with 225, Honda should have use this setup from factory.

Quick QU -

it's recommended that a baffled sump is used with a full on semi-slick on track.

Is that the case with these? Or are they not quite so grippy?

Considering these having taken my wheels off last week - not 100% mine will pass MOT

no you don't need baffled sump on road tyres, but always good to have just incase.
