Its a word document I keep on my computer which I update when I add things to the car. Its a handy thing to have come sale time as it saves the hassle of remembering things.

There's a small possibility that the car will have to be sold in the next few months as we are currently going through the motions of buying our first house. I'm doing everything I can to not let that happen as the car is pretty much finished now and I want to enjoy it

None although I have rolled the arches (no flare just flattened the lips), moved the rear bumper tab and trimmed the front arch liners slightly.

My car is a lot lower than most would cope with though. I'm going to raise it soon as the flange for the backbox on the DMS system sits a bit too low for my current ride height :p

How much camber have you got? If I look at mine with standard sizes there's bags of room, wonder if it would be enough for a wheel with 10mm less offset and 5mm more tyre.

Did you flatten the edge yourself?

I think I'm running 3 degrees of camber on the rear. I asked the guys at TDi for a track biased geo setup.

Yep I bought an arch roller off eBay and did them myself. It was pretty straight forward, just a matter of taking your time with them

Some bits turned up today so I figured i'd add it here, its nice to use this thread as a diary.

Thanks to mbh69 I now have all the bits I need to sort out my seized passenger rear caliper and refurb my drivers rear caliper which should mean my handbrake will work properly again. While i'm at it i'm going to drain the brake fluid and re-fill with dot 5 fluid for a better feel from the pedal.

I'm going to re-spray my wheels as they are looking a bit tatty, going to go for a nice fresh satin black finish as I think dark wheels really suit the Silverstone cars.

I've also uploaded a couple of quick vids off my phone

How much did they quote you for a remap pal? If you'd like to send me a message with details that would be great.

I want a remap for my charged s as well, and was gonna go to TTS, but may follow you of you've had good results with tdi?

The first time I had it mapped it was a set price of £350. I think this time round they are going to work on an hourly rate as the tuning for the new exhaust shouldn't too long.

I've asked if they can have a look at tuning the car with the restrictor removed so will see how that pans out. If it goes anywhere near maxing out the injectors or looking unsafe then i'll just stick the restrictor back in and be happy with it as is. I've contemplated buying bigger injectors, water meth injection etc but as we're currently going through the motions of buying our first house spending on the car is going to be put on hold for a while.

I'll post up full details / prices as soon as its all done as its booked in for next tuesday at 10:00 :D

£350 seems fairly good to me, I was thinking more than that, I'll give TTS a call tomorrow and see how much they want to do it...

Yes please let me know how you get on :)

Dan

I may be wrong, but didn't TDI get some poor feedback from a few people on here?

Yeah i've read mixed reviews from all over the place.

I'm only going off my past experience with them, the car was tuned by them a year ago and has been pretty much faultless since. I've given it death pretty much every day and its done two trackdays and is still going strong. There may be better tuners out there, there may be more accurate rolling roads but i've been very happy with the drivability of my car and haven't had any second thoughts about taking it back

Tuning session temporarily delayed due to two of the pulleys on my engine deciding they didn't want to play ball :(

New pulleys ordered from Si @ Hendy Performance and should all be sorted by the end of the week. Only downside is i've got to remove the supercharger to fit the second pulley :argh:

On another note this weekend I managed to respray all 4 wheels, remove, rebuild and paint both rear calipers and drain the brake fluid and re-fill with dot5 goodness :D

These two:

The bolt holding the bottom one in is replaced by a fitting for mounting the supercharger baseplate so the whole thing has to be removed to get access to it. Its not a difficult job just a bit time consuming. I'm getting very good at removing and re-fitting the pulleys and belts for the charger

I used to be pretty good at it too ..... but in the 18months I have had the updated plate I have never had to touch it, not even had to tighten the belt.

with my new plate i saw the belt fraying. I've tracked it down to a bolt on the steering rack that must be making contact with the extremity of the bottom pulley :thumbdn: Ive asked Richard now 3 times to send me a belt and a new machined pulley but nothing as of yet over the last 6weeks lol Thanks

Sorry for thread invasion I felt the need to vent this with other TTSers

I've called tts a few times now, and it almost seems like if your not spending money then they haven't got the time to give advice, Richard has been helpful, but it feels like I'm wasting his time with questions that are important, and seeing as its his kit he should really be able to have a chat about it! : / I really like the kit you have on yours btw, need a bigger charger on mine definitely.

My supercharger is only giving me 5 psi now, it is an old kit with a smaller charger than yours, so I will be making the call to see if I can buy a new (larger) one, any ideas on cost pf a new charger or where to get one (aside from tts)

As far as mine goes, I've pressure tested the intercooler system, checked the belt tension (12mm gap between the stops) so no idea what could be causing this lack of boost, anyone got any ideas (again, little off topic!)?

Do you have a boost gauge? the belts tend to slip at around vtec engagement, saying this i have a comptech supercharger so I'm not 100% sure. Have you tightened the belt, I'd say they need to be bloody tight but not tight enough to pull on the bearings.

Yea did the belt yesterday, the auto tensioner moves so it's tight, might try a bit of brake cleaner on the crank pulley and supercharger pully just in case there's any oil on them, but the belt has only done 1k max : ( if I brake cleaner it while it's running it shouldn't do anything to the belt should it?

And yes I have a boost gauge.

Obviously not a big enough block of wood :(

On Wednesday the bolt that held the bottom pulley sheared off:

Spent a good part of the day replacing the bolt and as I had the SC plate removed I decided it would be also be good time to refurbish my TCT.

Not convinced that it won't happen again so I had better get hold of a spare pulley.

:)
