Unhappy budget drag s2k : )

so the story is, i built a talon with tons of power and the drivetrain didn't handle it, so i got a nice s2000 shell and im building slowly as im parting out my talon, this is gonna be a mild build so dont start comparing me with s2king, rawperfomance and s2000 from hell im not trying to be that fast im just trying to have some fun and keep the car in one piece unlike a dsm!

my talon, built it all myself from intake manifold, exhaust manifold to intercooler endtanks estimated power 800hp+ 47psi e98 judging by my brothers car since it has same set up.

my street s2000 456hp at 14 psi old dyno numbers.

now the budget build

the reason why i have a funny cage is because the car is convertible and i dont feel comfortable with just a regular 10pt.

but like i said before this is not to compete with anyone, i just wanna have some fun

if u guys like the pics, i can keep updating with new pics after christmas. ive had the car for 2 months now and i work on it 1-2 hours a day so its gonna be a slow build plus money is not really there unless u guys buy my extra parts : )

awesome so far! its nice to have a car you can dedicate strictly to racing, then one to drive whenever on the street.

what happened to the s2000 that it caught fire? turbo setup? or some wiring issue?

what motor are you going to run?

honestly, you don't need that much horse power to be competitive. with that rear end and im sure you're going to put a good tranny in it, any amount of power will be transferred to the ground and the car should move!

any target weight? i'm thinking 2500 with driver if it remains stripped like that...

i got the car from an auction like this cheap, it was turbo but i think the fire was caused by an Hid, wiring or something like that, the car will have a simple set up, to make 700 to 800hp on e98 and will probably weight 2500 to 2700 i hope : / powerglide, 9 in rear. a good consistent low 9 sec car that's what im looking for. : )

Looking GREAT, I always love seeing a big build like this. Makes me question why people even think about doing all the little boltons. My new thought is to just buy on and strip it down to the bare shell and start from scratch.

I hope you are too big of a guy b/c it is going to be very hard to get in and out of that cage. ;-)

With 700whp that car will make low 9's in the first pass from just looking at it. Looks like a solid 8sec or lower car. Good job!
