Delrin bushing discussion

I've heard of delrin but have never heard of it being used like this.
Will they be pretty much maintenance free? Any need for steering rack bushings or the lower shock mount?

Delrin is maintenance free. That is one of the great parts about it compared to poly. No plan for steering rack bushings at this time. The shock mounts though we are thinking about including as well.

FYI, in my discussions with Lee Grimes of Koni, he stated that the shock mounts is the last place he would use a derlin bushing.

Delrin is ok for racecars, but I'm not sure I would do it in a street car. Spherical Bearings are best, but they are much more expensive. Delrin is much stiffer than poly and is almost akin to machined aluminum solid bushings, but not quite. Delrin has two big drawbacks:
They do wear out faster than most bushings. They will deform over time and get sloppy. You will need to watch them and replace accordingly.
They will be noisy. They require grease to be quiet and will require being greased every few months if you want them to remain quiet. It is more of a nuisance rather than requirement though.
I do have Delrin bushings in my racecar.
