Hood Dampers

I have the ebay ones, they work once you massage them into place and they look pretty decent as well.
After 7 months or so I noticed some rust dots around the surfaces where it connects to the post on the car. It makes me wonder if this would happen with a more expensive name brand one. The rust isn't bad, wipes off. But you know that somewhere water is getting as an inferior metal.

I have been using the Tein hood dampers for about 3 years now with no complaint. They are working as well as the day I installed them. They have just started to show a little surface rust on the chrome ends. If I wasn't so lazy I'd go polish them up before I gets worse, but like I said.....lazy. This is one of the best things I have ever bought for the car.

I've heard the PWJDM ones will rust, and create rust streaks from when water runs down that channel. A friend who had a white AP2 had them and wasn't happy. He said they work decently but the constant rust lines was really a turn off, and with that didn't know how long they'd hold up.
