Default clutch slipping?

The other day, we had a massive rain storm. I drove home just fine, caught a side puddle on the highway briefly.. and I do have a CAI. The puddle didn't seem to bad, I have a cover over my CAI as well and I've been thru worse. I did notice however the following day, at high RPM's it felt as if there was a hesitation, or maybe clutch slipping? At low RPMs, car feels just fine, still smooth.. 2nd, 3rd gear no problems, once I go 4th & climb above 5000rpm's, it doesn't feel as smooth. I'm not sure how to properly describe it, all I know is.. it definitely doesn't feel normal. Vtec still kicks in, but sometimes it seems like it flattens out and the pull isn't the same. I've tried the "map whack" and even resetting ECU, thought it worked for a bit.. but when I got on the highway to try & rip it, I noticed the hesitation at high rpm's again. I'll probably try new spark plugs next weekend, possibly new air filter.. but what are the chances that it's the clutch actually slipping? I don't recall any strong smells even after driving with the top down, regular driving is fine, smooth shifting still and I'm dreading to have to spend 1000+ on replacing the clutch. I'm just wondering if maybe it had something to do with the massive rain storm, the fact that it's been raining all week.. or if it really is my clutch.. or something else.
