I'm hoping someone can shed some light on the topic for me.

AEM is clearing out the 1052, and I want to make a solid buying decision, but not before I get some questions answered.

I know about the temp gauge issue and the cold start problems. The gauge thing is solved with a modifry harness, and I've read that the cold start thing can be tuned out of it.

So, aside from the datalogging capacity, what other differences are there?

ALSO, in regard to the cold start, and whether or not it's in your tune...can anyone confirm or deny this myth? Or do all AEM EMS v1 owners have to suffer with it? If it's something you just have to deal with, can anyone explain the reason(s) why? What causes it, etc?

I know KiKi knows alot about this...and Joe has some first hand experience...can you guys pitch in and give me a hand here?

Thanks in advance for any helpful input!

It takes a second longer to start my car vs when it was stock but you won't notice it much. The early units before the 1052 had really bad startup characteristics.

I bought ver1 because at the time ver2 had just been released like a week earlier and my tuner said he was more familiar with ver1. At the time ver2 was practically untested

I'd buy a ver 2 now. I'm thinking of switching to one before Mase comes back. Still working on that btw

I bought v1...I was needing to know quick-fast because AEM was doing a closout deal for $629 shipped on brand new never-been-out-of-the-box units, full warranty and all.

All I need is the Modifry ECT fix, and a few other little rinky dink items and I'll have my SC installed and ready for a tune!

How do you like it? Have you had any sort of problem with it at all? How's your startup?
