Clutch Delay Valve what to do about it?

The CDV is a minor annoyance on the street, and a fairly large one at the track. It's bad enough to get excessive clutch slippage when shifting from 3rd to 4th, 4th to 5th, and 5th to 6th when under full throttle but the knowledge that you're excessively wearing the clutch just makes it worse. I have 45,000 miles on my S and wonder how long the original clutch will last.

I have a few questions:

1. Does anyone else experience problems/annoyances with it when at track events?
2. Is it easy to remove/get rid of the CDV?
2a if you remove the clutch delay valve does it void the warranty? I have a 100k mile extended warranty on my car (that I paid for) so the last thing I'd want to do is void it.

I appreciate any advice or words of wisdom, thanks!

(btw I searched for topics on this but could no locate anything similar..also not a fan of the search function :p )

if you want a little resistance behind the pedal you can swap it for an ap1 slave cylinder.

^thanks for the tip, but I'd imagine that would still void my warranty, regardless of being a factory Honda part.

1. Eh not really. It's really easy to drive around. It's mostly present in the 1-2 shift, and you just have to pause for an extra couple of milliseconds.

2a. Yes; however you could swap in a ap1 slave and keep your ap2 slave if you ever need to take it in.

Just pull out that heavy ass stock flywheel, throw in a 11lb or less. CDV is then a non issue. I'm currently pushing 350 horses on a stock clutch and 11lb flywheel and it holds the power just fine. The CDV is there to protect the drivetrain from the shock of hard shifts with a heavy flywheel, remove the heavy flywheel and problem is solved.

Your problem isn't the CDV - you should read up and focus on what will actually improve your shifting.

This is bad info - There is a later discussion on the CDV and how its not really the culprit - http://www.s2ki.com/...tch-afterwards/

CDV is more about feel than grip. Pressure plate/flywheel combo is the issue.

Just wanted to brag say that I have 120k+ miles on my '04 and the stock clutch is just fine. CDV be damned.
