Anyone own a Volvo or know how they hold up? Always think of them lasting forever but no experience.

Honda makes plenty of AWD cars, if you think they are nice is a matter of taste I suppose....

Pilot
Element - I think they have AWD option
Accord Crosstour
MDX
RDX
RL (I personally own and love this car)

Those are all in a completely different cost bracket from what I am looking at and most are suv's not cars which I am looking for. So nothing in the market to compete with the cars I am looking for. If they had an early 2000 Accord awd or something then they would have something I would be interested in but unfortunately they don't.

I can't think of any AWD cars from 2000 except the Audi ,and the Subaru models.....I think I would stick to a subbie over a Volvo, but that is just me......good luck with the search

A coworker of mine has one and totaly hates it. Before buying any car that has good deals out on the market do as much research as possible. Most used cars that are out there on the cheap most of the time is for a reason.

Here is some stuff that I quickly found to help you stay away from.

S60
05-06
suffers a lot from engine cooling issues. Stay away from those.
02-04
Tranny issues especially with the 02.

S80
02-engine issues, major

Out of those two models and years you mentioned the S80 '04 is your best bet.

Thank Barry, I'm still here =)

please feel free to pm me with any questions. If you had a specific volvo in mind I can tell you what the common things to look for are. You should definitely take a volvo in for a ppi with a reputable volvo specialist or the dealer. If you find one in NNJ and they don't mind driving it to montclair I can take a look at it for you.
ray. good seeing you and grunt on sat.

ryan, take ray up on his offer. btwn him and his uncle, they have over 30 yrs of volvo experience and own a volvo specialty shop.

Does Volvo still make a 5 cylinder engine in any of their cars?
