And speaking of Ducati it's a known fact that the 1098R which is 180hp at 165kg is faster then the desmo around Phillip island which has a whopping 200hp at I71kg. Reason is simply because you struggle to tame the power and produce that power to the road.

But personally seeing a Desmo on the road, knowing that it is basically a street legal superbike which is had made from carbon fiber and having the exclusivity of only 1500 in the world is something special.

One last fact, Australia actually owns 40% of desmo's population in the world and each unit is numbered with a plaque next to the adjustable ohlins steering dampener.

Sorry to drag this on but I am passionate about these machines and was lucky enough to work with them on a 1 on 1 basis

Motorbikes scare the f**k out of me. Cars all day errrrrryday.
My soul is from elsewhere, I’m sure of that, and I intend to end up there.

Yeah don't get me wrong, cars are great although there is nothing like the thrill with nice crisp fresh air with a warm sun on your back as you twist your throttle under your right wrist you power up to 16000 RPM and to have the front wheel lift off the ground 3 inches at 180km/h (on the main straight of Phillip island) u forget all your stress, and there is nothing in your head besides your bike yourself and the road.

Ab absolute adrenaline rush is an understatement.

See the thing I don't get about that is, how do you feel the wind in a helmet or sun on leathers?

Give me a turbo S2000 on a mountain road on a sunny day with someone cute in the passenger seat anytime.

U can feel the sun on leathers without an issue and I dont necessarily mean u need to feel the air on your face but torso legs and arms.

Hey Aus, what's the reliability of your turbo build been like over the years?

LOL I'm not having a go, I actually want to know. Common opinion is they're unreliable (obviously it depends on the car taken during the build and maintenance), interested in what your experience has been like.

I can proudly say. Have been through three head gaskets, two engines, and three turbos. By comparison, in my very short biking history I have broken two bones. I don't need to tell you which hurt the most.

I can say the following.

I truly can enjoy the S2K. Whether its the commute to work or taking it for a "run".

The bike, is just a pure adrenalin rush when you twist the throttle. But unfortunately, whenever I'm riding it, I'm more than aware of how dangerous it can be. Because of that, I tend to enjoy it less.

Yeah I agree with you Tim, the danger riding a bike can be escalated when that majority of drivers dont do headchecks so I think the only thing you can do to make yourself heard is install a set of termignoni pipes and I'm sure u will force headchecks. It's a good excuse to the mrs if she doesn't want u spending the 3K

You are correct. Termi's no doubt help.
Surprising though how many don't head check and your right there...
