Tried to get an on-line quote last week, got to the last page & your web page crashed - annoying, but to be fair, the very next morning some one from your office called and went through the quote with me. I did advise right at the start and multiple times throughout the call that my renewal with Adrian Flux was £488.

After going through all my details the best you guys could do was £628 and I was asked if I would like to take this policy - standard sales pitch I know, to which I replied "no, why would I want to pay £140 more than my renewal for the same level of cover" and we left it at that.

Today, I have had 3 phones calls:
1) asking me if I would like to take out a new policy at £628 to which I replied exactly the same as my quote above but did state that I would be interested if you could beat the Adrian Flux price.
2) a call to say that you were trying to beat my renewal price - a bit of a pointless call if you ask me
3) a call to say that you could take £70 off your quote thus still making it £70 more than my renewal for identical cover :faint: to which I again replied the same as my initial contact with you guys.

If you cannot compete with other brokers then fair enough, that's the way the market is & why people shop around but as per a previous comment from S2k_ed84 - wasted my time and yours as there was no need to contact me 4 times to establish what we had already done on day 1 - you couldn't beat my renewal price :banghead:

Are you insuring 23 year olds on S2000's yet? I've had it 3 years now with 3 years no claims. IN10 though!

I quite agree, I'll PM you in a moment for your details.

Whilst my team are encouraged to follow up on all quotations it seems we have been more than a little keen in this case.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention and my apologies for the inconvenience caused.

Just to say thankyou to all you at Sky for your help, I found all the chaps there very helpful and enjoyed the conversations.

Of course the fact that your quote beat the companies in opposition in cost, excess and level of cover helped a wee bit too!

Cheers all!

Hi all,

just to let you know that we have reviewed the online quotation facility we have had live for the last couple of months due to some feedback we have received over our network of affiliated car clubs. Despite hundreds of people getting online quotes with us everyday, we've had issues with our full online quotation, as it stands we have removed this so only our 'quick quotation' facility is currently live. As it stands, we cannot provide confirmed quotations unless we speak to customers over the telephone, telephone quotations take no longer than ten minutes usually.
If you are after a very quick and rough indicative price then you are welcome to use the 'quick quote option' but please speak to us on the phone to go through a full quotation.

Thanks for reading and feel free to have a look around our website!

Insurance sorted today thanks to Luke at sky.

Very pleasant to deal with and a very good quote too. Im feeling glad i gave sky a go :).

On a funny note, on cancelling the old insurers renewal they gave me a quote to better it and keep my custom, i pleasently expressed that instead of bumping it up each year and trying it on for a ' valid' customer the first price should be the best price end of.

Thanks Sky :)

My renewal from Sky this month was £840. I got an online quote of £695 from Admiral and when I phoned up to ask if Sky could price match, I was told that Admiral's online quotes were "not accurate" and that I had to phone Admiral to confirm the price. The guy was remarkably unhelpful, but I'm not going to give his name as he might have just been having a bad day.

After phoning Admiral and wasting half of my afternoon (at work, fortunately), I was told that Admiral's online quotations are accurate.

I rang Sky back again to ask if they could match Admiral's quote - Luckily this time I got through to Alex who was brilliant to deal with and did match the price for me, no problem.

I'm not really sure where I'm going with this, I just wanted to get it off my chest. Sky are the best insurers I've dealt with though and I'm glad they could match my best quote.

I had a similar experience when I called Sky last week. I was told that my quote with Elephant of £566 was not accurate and was then quoted £792 by the agent at Sky. Now I've used online price comparison sites for years now and each time they have been 100% accurate so I have no idea who that particular agent was that I dealt with but obviously the quote wasn't competitive. For the record all my mods in my signature were declared.
Floppy - but not where it counts!

I got a quote from Sky last week but they were still £40 more than my renewal quotation from Chris Knott.

Just picking up on this. I'm going to look into this further to see if we have a training issue that needs addressing. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

Whilst our renewals team are asked to query and double check internet prices when we are utilising our price match service, they are not meant to rubbish them. We do find that a lot of quotations we are asked to match are in fact wrong or offer a substandard level of cover with high excesses. We can only match like for like quotations, hence why this was queried, but it sounds like it was not queried in the way it should have been.

I am pleased to see you have stayed with us, I've passed your feedback on to my colleague Alex and the renewals team manager.

Kind regards

Ollie

My wife has insurance through Sky. I spoke to one of their people about insuring my car and was told it was no problem. Was even given a decent price. When I tried to sign up I was told that no, they would not insure me which caused a big problem and wasted a huge amount of my time. I then went to a different broker that was incredibly helpful and beat my renew quote by miles.

Needless to say, when my wife's car is due for renewal we will be going elsewhere and not using Sky.

Just got cut up by some old idiot who was very rowdy, This was the email I sent to Sky, What you think? Is it enough? Have I worded everything up ok?
This is so annoying... I attached the photos for you guys to see too.

"Hello guys

I was involved in an accident today where I got cut up. I have attached a photo and the same with a diagram of how it happened in the email.
He was a very rowdy man and was very reluctant to give out his details. I have been in touch with the police and all they said was that if the
details that he did give me were not sufficient to be in contact then they would be able to act on it.

I have also been in touch with Aviva (Norwich Union) his insurer however their systems are down until Sunday 8am. So I can't confirm his details
Or even if he is insured with them. I did however take a photo of his reg and I managed to squeeze out of him that he was insured with Norwich and his surname.

The collision was with my passenger front wing with his driver side rear door. He squeezed in and cut me up and as his rear swung in it glanced my front wing and bumper
as he wanted to get into my lane to go to Tescos. Please see attached photos.

Police record reference: 02**/1***

Police name and badge number: John C****

My details are:

Joey Tsang
AY*****
Yellow Honda S2000
Number address road ****
OX******

0777*********

His were:

Mr. Slade
OU*****
Green Ford Mondeo
Norwich Union

Please let me know what action I should be taking as this is very frustrating that not only did he cut me up but then had the audacity to blame me, scream and shout
profanities at me.

Thank you in advance,

Joey Tsang"

It's like a 2p size dent and 5 inch scuff on the bumper. Nothing major, I'm having the thing painted championship white in a month so that's ok. The fact is he had the audacity to cut me up and then say it was my fault when I was perfectly square and regular with the car in it's whole in MY lane.

That pee'd me off.

You think my email is comprehensive enough?
