Am I wrong in saying the list now may be down to this?

Squeak
AquilaEagle
djtimodj
Dredd123
rhauri (HOTEL BOOKED)
GavB
Dinger465

And from the above, will Ian and pip still be driving up, considering the fuel lottery. Dinger465 hasnt been online for over 2 weeks. And is it worth pointing out to rhauri that he is probably now the only one with a booking at the royal goat?
Whom from the above sent you PM's Adrian?

Morning guys :hello:

OK here is the situation from darn sarrrf

Very difficult to get fuel here - I've even had suppliers traveling 50 miles cancel on me.

So - I am not going to risk getting up there 300 odd miles and back.

In addition due to flight timings Squeak is not going to make it.

As I was going to lead the route, that is now impossible.

AE Snr is unable to travel as a passenger in an S at the moment (esp at speed).

If any of you local guys want to carry on and someone who knows the area lead, that would be great but this daft fuel situation looks like it is scuppering plans :(

I will PM everyone on that latest list with AE Snr's email address, and if you email him he can send you the route.

Thanks for the update Ian, pretty inevitable I suppose.

I think it's time to be realistic and say there is little chance of there being more than 2 or 3 cars available for the start.
This being the case, the format of the meet, a full day out and a none circular route, with the chance of getting marooned, now just doesn't go round.

With regret I'm going to do something else with my Saturday.

Very sorry to Adrian for planning all this, only to be derailed by unexpected events - I'm sure there will be another chance for a Wales meet soon

..... I can only imagine how annoying all this is for a hotels and business around the country - must be costing the economy millions.

As far as I am concerned it is disappointing :crycry: that the Meet (if it goes ahead) will have so few cars. Mind you the smallest North Wales Meet consisted of just me and Kiwi. A visit to the Ponderosa for a hearty breakfast put us in good spirits and then we departed and did our own thing!

As I said a few mails ago the route is there for another day and maybe the whole thing can be re-scheduled for late September or early October which have also proved a good time for a North Wales jaunt. I try to avoid the holiday period between Easter and Autumn Half-Term so that we get nice quiet roads.

Any suggested dates? What about Saturday, 06 October? Either as a single day drive or with a stay overnight? I don't know when this year's Mega Meet is yet, so will have to avoid any conflict.

For those who want the Route for tomorrow please mail me to my user name @ gmail.com and I will send you the Excel files with all the driving instructions. When mailing please mention your S2k user name. :ponder:

Anyone want to invest in a solar powered electric car? :tipwink:

Somehow I don't think that you will be missing too much! :photo: However, apologies accepted. :tipwink:

Here in Llandudno ASDA have put up cones to seperate the fuel traffic from the shoppers, long , long queue even after the latest Government announcements.

The only other garage in town sold out yesterday afternoon. Can't afford to waste fuel going to see what is happening further out of town but suspect that the smaller garages will have also sold out by now. I always have a spare can of diesel in the boot for emergencies so I am OK for now.

Have a nice week end folks - maybe there is some gardening :faint: or decorating :smelly: or a dog :dogrun: that needs attention instead of hooning around in an S!!!!! :vtec: Only joking, of course!

What a shame - I filled up my tank to the brim last night in preparation too :(

Bloody panic buyers, utterly pathetic - get a grip.

Very sorry that the meet has had to be cancelled, and I do understand that those with 700 mile round trips just can not risk being stranded. I especially feel for Adrian too who has spent so much time and money planning the route - thanks for your efforts and hopefully we can all enjoy the route later in the year.

Out of interest - are any locals going ahead and doing a one-day route anyway?

Cheers,
Rhauri

Also... I'd still be up for a one day route - even just once round the Evo Triangle with 3 to 4 cars? Any takers??

Now that wouldn't be fair to tell, would it? Those that didn't know it! In fact my requests for PM's received a very dismal response overall, but no different to usual!

Must thank Martin for all his help.

Rhauri,

There is a Honda meet... Apparently a lot of cars will be there and they will be doing the EVO triangle route. That will be on a Sunday. But then again, that may be cancelled....

It's a shame that this has happened. Stupid panic buyers ruining the lovely weekend coming up...

Anyways have a good weekend guys.

Dinger, where are you travelling from?
Rhauri what about you?

I'd hate to see two new keen owners, being disappointed, I could be persuaded for a drive towards the Evo, followed by lunch, but then I would need to head back to Chester.

Post up if you are both willing to attend. Or anyone else

Hi Dinger

It is quite fun to do it by yourself. You will often find a few Motorcyclists and other cars having a run round. It can also be better than a big group as you are then totally free to do your own thing.

I take it you know where the EVO is? Just in case A5 from Cerridudridion (Sp) to Pentrefoelas, A543 towards Denbigh then B4501 back to Cerri. Or in the reverse. You will find that doing both directions the drive is entirely different depending on whether you choose clockwise or anti-clockwise.

Enjoy!! :tipwink:

I may be crazy BUT

I will also be at the meet point tomorrow for a 9:30 start at St David's. Park

I know the roads well enough and will happily lead a drive to the Evo followed by lunch. After which I will be heading back to Chester, anyone going to the royal goat will be pointed in the right direction, via good roads.

Naah, it was called off because of the potential, but not realised, fuel strike. Too many had round trips that would be more than 1 full tank in their S2's so it was the sensible thing to do.

A couple of cars were going to do 1 lap around the EVO but I got the message too late and so it was saved for another day.

Hopefully the AE's arn't too dis-heartened and fancy arranging another drive later in the year as I'm sure it'd have been fantastic.
