Does anyone have experience with these guys. I called and talked to neil about tuning and he seems like he knows his stuff. I'd like to have my JDM f20c tuned there on E85. I live in Overland park, Ks about 4 hrs from there so i want to make sure its worth the trip. I am not interested in using one of the local shops here from previous experience. Can anyone give me any input. I will be getting tuned on AEM EMS. Setup will be PLM header, Short ram intake, 2.75" exhaust possibly BC stage 2 cams and cam gears

IMO they are alright, but not "excellent". They know AEM and they can do nice work, but they may not have great customer service. One of the guys came down from MO to get tuned on a weekend. For some reason the car developed problems. They tried to trouble shoot a little, but the tuner ended up splitting to hang out with the gf, leaving the guy not knowing what's wrong with the car and paying full price for a tune that didnt do anything.

On the other hand I had them do a bit of maintenance on my car and they did a fine job. So they know what they are doing.

Well i have a feeling i would be in the same boat. The car will probably be started up in there shop for the first time unless i can get a base tune to get the car started and running before i come down there.

I hope that was a one time deal cuz i dont have time to be blown off if we are trailering a car 4 hours down there.

Well I was told that Alex (the tuner) is having the guy come down again this weekend to "make it right". So we should have an update on how that went pretty soon. Maybe he realized he could have handled it better.

Thats where i am planning to go for my tuning. Alex definitely knows his stuff, many can vouch for him. They have a yellow ap1 there at the shop getting built to run for the fastest street class s2000. Pepo from King Performance which holds the record for the fastest s2000 is working with them to get the car tuned right. Not to mention, Falo helped build the s2k at Kings Performance.

Ok well it sounds like that is where i need to go for sure then. I should just plan on making it a 3 day weekend to make sure we have time for everything. they seem really knowledgeable from everything we talked about and i am def interested in that. Out of the 2 "best" shops here 1 tunes AEM but does more EVO/AWD vehicles, the other is honda experienced but doesn't do much AEM or S2K tuning so for the money i'd rather go a shop with experience.

I'm the owner of the yellow s2k at Humble's shop. If you talk with Alex he is a great guy and knows his stuff and if he has questions then he will utilize Pepo the owner of Red Star Motoring or even Kings Performance which either company is great asset to have when building an s2k! My s2k is at 27psi@640whp and it's on low boost for my setup...

After being in town for a dyno session on a car with some previous power related issues, we were able to nail down what was wrong with the car, and figure out what we needed to do to make the necessary power from the vehicle.

On a previous trip, the owner of the car was rather disappointed in the work performed, and let Alex know about it. Alex told him to ring the car back and he'd make it right. On this go 'round, the owner was very happy. He went to ask Alex what he owed him, seeing as how he spent most of the day with the car...Alex said, "I told you I'd make it right, man. So you don't owe me anything. If you wanna throw in a donation for my racing fund, that's fine, but I told you I'd make it right, so don't feel obligated."

Pretty good customer service on Alex's part, if you ask me.
