I honestly had no problem with the KW's either, I just wanted to try something new and the fact they are "easily" rebuildable appealed to me.
ViperASR really liked the 13k/11k Swift springs that went with them and recommended the same rate on the AST's for me(they have 650/550 currently) Its going to be a lot of changes at once though as I having been running "stock" this season. And will be going completely square at the same time(got oem ap2 wheels with 245F and 255R now)
Maxcy just got back to me and said its gonna be about 1500 to convert to doubles.....not sure I need that, but after having it with KWs I feel like I want it even though once I set the compression/bump, I never messed with it again

All I've heard is the AST's have relatively low compression and like a lot of spring rate due to that. Looks like 100-250 lb spring rage split between front and rear is way to go. I can't imagine an ap2 needing 200 lb stiffer springs in front, but the idea is to get away from super heavy bars, which lighten the inside wheel, reducing rubber on the ground

Gonna pick up the Karcepts top hats and probably have them revalved by Maxcyspeed(AST's authorized rebuilder in the states)....if not converted to the 5200s
After you do that I want them back

Would be good to get some input. Ive been out of autoX for a few years. I am going to build an 04 S2k for my boss and be his co driver. We live 12 minutes From Ohlins here in North Carolina. Im buddy's with several guys that work there and they will give us good support for sure. Our car is completely stock at the moment and we would like to do a full prep on it. Fire away with suggestions!!

Yes, I currently running the Ohlins TTX on my NA car and MCSs on my Turbo car. The Ohlins are impressive IMO and easily my favorite to date. The only available high end shocks I have yet to drive an S2000 on are the Fat Cats (budget high end?). It would take me a while to explain, and others have already explained much of it in the Ohlins threads on here

Bars, alignment, and OEM CR dampers and springs are a far more capable setup than I was anticipating. At the uppermost echelon of the sport, sure, the coilovers are going to give an extra little edge.
